7/23/24 – This is an early P.38 production, 1941 dated hard-shell style P.38 holster. The holster is in excellent overall condition with strong black-dyed leather that has mild pliability. Very clean interior leather as well. The back of the holster is stamped with a larger style “gcx” maker code, and full “1941” date. Under the date stamp is a crisp, strongly struck WaA930 waffen military proof stamp. To the right of the belt loops is a P.38 designation stamp. There’s some surface scratches that look intentionally added just below the P.38 stamp, and above the stitching line on the back leather is a letter “H” lightly scratched into the leather. The lower-right side of the back leather has a few broken stitches, but the stitching is still present; full, and excellent on the front facing side of the holster. The rest of the holster stitching is excellent and all original. Very hard to find an early year (1941) in this condition.
