8/6/24 – This is an excellent Lithgow SMLE III from 1941. Matching with British proofs throughout. There is an “MAO SMLE III* HV 1942” marking on the right side of the butt stock. We assume this to mean it was reworked in 1942. The finish rates about 95% with just general minor handling and use wear. Very nice wood stock with honest use wear with a ding or two. There is a minor surface crack just ahead of the rear receiver band, however it is solid. Bro has good rifling with minor frosting btill rates a good 8 of 10. Smooth action and fully functional.
