6/14/22 – This is an excellent example of an early pre-WW2 Springfield Model 1903 issued to the US military in 1938. The barrel is SA marked and dated February of 1938. The stock is “P” proofed and has a correct “DAL” Springfield inspection marking on the left side. The bolt is marked “NS”. The punch marks on the receiver and muzzle indicate it was re-worked by Springfield. Overall, the gun is in excellent condition with very little finish loss. There is just some light wear around the front barrel band and floor plate / trigger group. The wood stock is excellent with only very minor handling marks here and there. Mint bore. Comes with a front sight hood.
