10/20/21 – This is an excellent example of a Springfield Model 1903 Rifle originally issued to the US Military in 1914. There is a “C-SAA” arsenal marking on the right side of the stock indicating this gun was reworked, likely for issue during WW2. That would make sense because the barrel is dated March of 1939. It is also Springfield Armory-marked and has a flaming bomb military proof. There is a “P” on the wrist of the stock. Comes with a reproduction 1917-dated leather sling. The gun has retained most of its parkerized finish. There is minor wear around the high edges of the receiver and spotty/scratchy wear on the front sight, front barrel band, floor plate, and trigger group. Spotty oxidation in the same areas and on the barrel. The stock is nice with some noticeable dings here and there, an area of scratching on the underside about halfway down the gun, and a light streak of white paint on the left side of the butt stock. The bore has decent rifling with minor pin-pricking throughout.
