3/29/23 – This is an original, early variation Kriegsmarine dagger with an etched blade. The dagger also comes with an early style hammered scabbard and silver portepee. The dagger blade is in great condition with solid, crisp etching on each side and a WKC maker stamp on one side of the ricasso. There’s dark spots of oxidation and surface patina near the tip and base of the blade and no signs of sharpening. The red felt stopper is original and intact at the base of the blade. The hand guard and pommel have typical surface patina without any excessive wear. The dark orange bakelite handle has a tightly wrapped chord and no cracks or chips, but there are a few mild scuffs here and there. The portepee has fraying along the rope, but the knot is tight. The scabbard is in excellent condition.
