6/12/23 – This is an original WW2 production Kriegsmarine Officer’s dagger. This particular example features an etched blade stamped by the maker, Eickhorn. The style of the maker’s stamp indicates production occurred between 1941 and 1942. Both sides of the blade exhibit dark speckling due to oxidation wear. A concentration of this wear, accompanied by some pin-pricking, is notable near the blade’s tip. Despite the wear, the etching on each side remains crisp and easily visible. Both the cross guard and pommel are brass and exhibit typical surface patina and signs of aging. The handle is in excellent condition, showing no cracks or chips. The dagger comes with a period-correct scabbard. The scabbard is in great condition but missing one of the screws near the mouth opening.
