6/14/23 – This is an excellent example of an AC 45 Walther P.38 made at the very end of WW2. This is a GI mismatched gun, put together by an American GI when the Walther factory was liberated. The parts are mismatched and in the proper “c-d” serial block, correct for this variation. It also only has one “Eagle 359” military acceptance proof on the right side of the slide, indicating it was never issued. This one also has a rare “Eagle 140” marked frame, indicating it was manufactured at the FN factory. This particular gun has retained about 96% of its finish. Minor thinning and spotty brown patina on the front strap. Some spotty discoloration on the barrel. Fitted with very nice blackish-brown bakelite grips and comes with a rare “U” marked magazine. The bore is mint. De-cocker functions properly. The barrel sticks out a little bit from the front of the slide.
