8/8/23 – This is a nice example of a Spreewerk P.38 originally issued to the Nazi military in June of 1943. Import mark on the right side of the frame. There is an “Eagle BH” marking on the left side of the frame, indicating it was issued to the Austrian military after the war. It comes as a rig with a 1960-dated magazine and a post war holster. The holster has been modified to accept a belt clip. There is an ink stamp on the inside that appears to be dated 1957. The entire gun has been refinished. Most of the parts are blued, but the small parts have a nice gold-colored wash. Fitted with blackish metal grips. There is not much actual finish loss, but there is an obvious area of spotty discoloration and minor pitting on the right side of the slide. The bore has decent rifling, but there is minor pitting throughout. De-cocker is functional.
