2/14/24 – This is an original WW2 SA Dagger with an original scabbard and attached hanger. The hanger clip is Assmann maker marked with surface patina throughout. The leather strap is broken and worn throughout, but still attached. The dagger blade has natural scabbard rub wear and dark spots of oxidation throughout. There’s still visible cross-graining however, and the edges are clean and unsharpened. Nice, crisp markings throughout. The cross guards are early nickel and non-magnetic. The lower crossguard is “Sw” Gruppe stamped. There’s nice natural patina on the cross guards and no major issues or unsightly discoloration. The wood handle has a few small chips where the wood meets the top crossguard / pommel. These are minor and overall the grip is in great shape. The scabbard is an early anodized finish with speckling patina throughout. A very nice early example with some honest wear and aging, priced to sell !
