3/7/24 – This is an original WW2 SA Dagger with an original scabbard and attached hanger. The leather strap on the hanger has light cracking but has good structural integrity. The dagger blade has natural scabbard rub wear and areas of light surface patina. There’s still visible cross-graining, and the edges are clean and unsharpened. Nice, crisp maker marking and inscription on the blade. The cross guards are early nickel and non-magnetic. The lower cross guard is “BO” Gruppe stamped. The cross guards have a nice natural patina and no significant issues or unsightly discoloration. The wood handle has a few minor surface scuffs with no chips or cracks. There’s some discoloration on the emblem embedded in the grip. The scabbard has an early brown anodized finish and has a few minor spots of speckled patina. Discoloration on the metal accent tip and mouth. A very nice early example with some honest wear and aging.
