2/2/22 – This is an excellent example of an early Mauser K98 issued to the German military in 1936. This one has a rare “S/243” Mauser factory code on the receiver. It also has the proper waffen military proofs throughout. The gun is entirely matching (including the rear sight, butt plate, and stock) except for the bolt, which is un-numbered. Generally, there is minor wear around the muzzle, a couple of small streaks of wear on the left side of the barrel, and some minor wear on the front barrel band (with a few small dings). Minor thinning and areas of pin-pricking on the floor plate/trigger guard. A few tiny dings on the trigger guard as well. The stock is nice but has minor dings, dents, and bruises throughout. One more noticeable gouge on the right side near the action. Comes with a period-correct sling. The bore has good rifling, but there is minor pin-pricking in the grooves.
