1/16/24 – This is a scarce example of an early Colt Model 1911 that was one of 700 shipped to Benicia Arsenal on May 28, 1913. The pistol is original throughout with proper early barrel showing disconnected ‘P’ and ‘H’ markings horizontally on barrel. The bluing is original but has obviously been handled and used a fair amount, with thinning, patina and oxidation throughout. Bore has strong rifling with minor signs of use. The original wood grips show some smoothing but no cracks. Postwar magazine. Roughly 43,000 produced in 1913.
