6/28/22 – From 1936, here we have a Krieghoff Luger that is mostly correct, but with a few issues ; and therefore priced accordingly. We have taken this all apart and here is what we found. The frame is Krieghoff made (HK) and correctly serial numbered 2328. It comes with wooden grips, however these are not HK grips even though they are numbered “28” and have spurious HK proofs on them. They are not original to the gun. The take down lever and trigger are correctly numbered 28. The safety lever is not numbered (incorrect). The hold open is not numbered (correct) but also not HK proofed (incorrect). The middle toggle link has the early HK, Suhl logo with #28 on it, which is correct. The rear toggle pin is not numbered (correct). The barrel is not numbered but it is HK proofed (correct). The firing pin and firing pin retailer is not numbered and not HK proofed (incorrect). It is fluted however. Each toggle link is correctly proofed and numbered 28 (correct). The side plate is internally numbered 28 and HK proofed which is most likely correct. However, the trigger bar is blued and it should be white metal. It is also HK proofed which is correct. Finally the magazine is numbered to the gun but the HK proof is too small and therefore I would assume the matching numbers on the magazine were “forced matched”. Very good bore rates about 8 out of 10. While not for the most discerning collector this HK luger might make a nice “place-holder” for someone. The sum of the parts would easily cover the price of the gun.
