2/22/24 – This is an original WW2 era production Japanese Type 30 rifle bayonet. The bayonet is an early production example with early features, such as a bright, fullered blade, hooked cross guard, and bird’s head pommel. The blade is maker stamped by Hikari Seiki Arsenal on the ricasso, and the pommel of the handle is serial numbered. According to Labar’s book, this is a Variation A LB-93. Based on the serial number on the pommel, this is a 38th series. The blade is in great condition with some scratches throughout. The edge is sharpened. The blued cross guard and hilt are in good condition with average surface patina and wear. Excellent wood grips. Comes with a tubular tipped metal scabbard as shown. There’s mild surface patina and finish loss throughout. There is a dent midway up the left side of the scabbard and some minor dents along the front edge. None of which affect how the blades ability to be inserted and removed.
