7/19/23 – This is an early and somewhat scarce military Mauser HSc from 1941. One of ~25,000 produced with E/655 marking, as compared to more than 100k produced with E/135 marking. The pistol has about 92-94% of the early high-polish blue, with the largest patch of wear on the right side of the muzzle. Also minor finish loss on left side of muzzle and edges of grip straps. There’s also some oxidation on the straps, more notably on the back strap. There’s an area on each side of the frame with some discoloration, but the finish appears to be original in both areas as it does not come off when we use our “magic cloth” on it. Excellent bore. Grips have no cracks or chips.
