12/9/22 – This is a near-mint example of a rare Ruger Super Blackhawk “Old Model” Revolver, chambered in .44 Magnum. This particular gun was made in the first year of production, 1959, and has a very early serial number. It’s one of only 200 produced with the long grip frame as Elmer Keith asked Ruger to make some with a frame that was 10% longer than the Super Blackhawks. It has not been converted. Comes with an excellent red velvet lined wood presentation case. It has retained nearly all of its high polish finish with a hint of muzzle wear, some tiny handling marks here and there, and a very faint roll mark on the cylinder. Fitted with excellent wood grips. Shiny bore with strong rifling. The cylinder is tight, and the action is smooth. The box is in good condition but does have a small crack that was partially repaired with glue.
