3/22/23 – This is a rare example of “Deutschland erwacht” (Germany awakes) hardcover scrapbook from 1933. The book is complete, meaning all the potential added images are attached and glued to their respective pages. Our understanding is this book was sold with the images separately, so readers could add the images as they went along as a sort of interactive learning. This example also features a nice hardcover with paper sleeve, and a large fold-out image of gathered troops in Luitpoldhain, 1933. The fold-out is 6 pages long, and completely intact! There are 150+ pages total, and all pages are intact with some yellowing from age. No rips or tears, but a few pages are delicate and have some mild yellow stains. The added images are all excellent, with some in color but most are black-and-white. A very cool piece of early WW2 German history.
