5/14/24 – This is an original WW2 German Heer Army Afrika Korps Pith Helmet. This is a 2nd model, made in 1941 as indicated by the ink stamp found on the interior of the leather headband. The headband is also size marked “59” next to the date. The exterior of the headband is maker marked “JHS”. The helmet exterior features two original shield shaped decals. The decals retain most of the original painted finish and have excellent details. The exterior olive green felt has no blemishes or moth holes. The leather brim edge has some mild wrinkling but no major issues. Excellent stitching throughout. The interior is clean as well with a few mild cracks on the red colored interior crown (as shown). Includes an original leather chinstrap.
