7/15/22 – This is an excellent Czech Vz 24 rifle. Most of the parts are un-numbered, and many of the parts have Czech “CZ” proof stamps. The right side of the buttstock is numbered and matches the receiver. The bolt assembly is not numbered, but has proper CZ and Czech lion proof stamps. The receiver is 1937 date stamped. The metal is in excellent condition with strong, dark original bluing throughout. There’s some mild patina on the barrel and floorplate, and some finish loss near the muzzle and bolt release lever. The wood stock is excellent as well. The bore is in minty condition, and the mechanics are smooth. The only flaw with this rifle is the barrel band, which appears to have been taped down at one point, but can be moved fairly easily up and down the hand guard. The band may not be for a VZ 24, but we’re not sure (there appears to be a screw missing). See photos. Price reduced accordingly.
