3/18/22 – This is an original Colt Single Action Army holster. The holster was shortened / modified in the 1890s for artillery use. The holster has surface cracking throughout the surface leather, as shown. The leather is still firm with mild pliability however. The front flap appears to be stamped “D 5 2 3” vertically and upside down – likely unit stamps. No other markings or stamps. All the stitching is excellent and original. Measures about 10.5 inches from top to bottom when closed.
