12/13/21 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1909 revolver issued to the US military in 1911. The gun is all matching, is “United States Property”-marked on the underside of the barrel, and has the proper “RAC” military acceptance proofs on the barrel, right side of the frame, and on the bottom edges of both grip panels. It has retained roughly 80% of its original Colt bluing. Most of the finish loss is on both grip straps, underside of the trigger guard, and on the top edges of the frame. Some light brown patina in the same areas. There is also general high edge wear and wear around the muzzle. There is light scratchy wear and spotty brown patina throughout. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. Comes with very nice period-correct wood grips – some light bruising, especially on the right side. The bore is very shiny with strong rifling, but there are some areas of minor pitting.
