2/8/22 – This is a very nice example of a Colt Model 1909 revolver issued to the US military in 1911. The gun is all matching except for the barrel. The barrel has been replaced with one from a Colt Model 1917. The underside of the barrel is “United States Property” marked. There are proper “R.A.C.” military proofs on the right side of the frame and bottom edges of the grip panels. The gun has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its high polish finish. Most of the finish loss is on both sides of the frame, where the wear is splotchy. There is also wear concentrated around the high edges of the cylinder and on the top strap. Some spotty, scratchy wear and freckling on both grip straps. A few tiny dings on the underside of the trigger guard. A few light scratches on the left side of the frame and on the front strap. The cylinder is tight, and the action is smooth. The grips are hand-numbered on the inside and matching to the gun. The bore is near-mint.
