10/21/21 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammer pistol manufactured in 1915. The gun is all matching and has the proper Rampant Colt logo at the back of the left side of the slide. It also has an British “Crown V” proofs on the frame, slide, and ejection port. From research, this indicates that this particular gun was delivered to the British military for use during WW1 – a fascinating gun indeed. It has retained roughly 60% of its original high polish Colt blue. The case-hardening on the hammer is mostly worn. Most of the finish loss is on the slide where the wear is spotty. It is most noticeable on the left side of the slide near the muzzle (spotty oxidation and a few areas of minor pitting in the same areas) and around the high edges of the slide. There is scratchy wear and minor freckling on the grip straps as well. There is a small area of minor dings on the right side of the gun at the top of the trigger guard. Comes with excellent hard rubber Colt grips – there is a small chip along the edge of the left grip panel. It also comes with one proper magazine. The bore has decent rifling with minor pin-pricking throughout.
