12/13/21 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1901 revolver issued to the US military in 1901. It is all matching and has the proper “RAC” military acceptance proofs on the left side of the frame and on the bottom edge of the right grip panel. It has retained roughly 75% of its original finish. Most of the finish loss is on the grip straps, underside of the trigger guard, and top edges of the frame. There is spotty wear and light scratches throughout with some areas of spotty oxidation here and there. There is an area of discoloration and minor pitting on the right side of the frame. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. Comes with period-correct wood grips – small cracks in both panels in the bottom corners closest to the back strap. Original lanyard ring intact. The bore is excellent – shiny with strong rifling.
