6/1/23 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1851 Navy revolver, manufactured in 1867 and chambered in .36 Caliber. It is all matching except for the barrel wedge, which is only off by one number (3137). The gun itself has retained roughly only 40% of its original finish with spotty finish loss and splotchy discoloration throughout. Some small areas of minor pin-pricking here and there. The Naval Engagement scene on the cylinder is fairly worn but still visible. Fitted with period-correct wood grips – there are some small dings and bruises on the bottom edges. The bore has strong rifling, but there are areas of pin-pricking and freckling here and there.
