3/19/24 – This is a very nice example of a Colt Government Model 1911 sold in the commercial market in 1919. It has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its original high polish finish. There is a small area of pitting on the left-hand side of the slide near the muzzle, and general muzzle wear. Some finish loss around the high edges, more prominent on the left side of the gun. Areas of light spotty oxidation here and there, most noticeably along the grip straps, and some mild thinning on the grip safety. Some tiny scratches here and there. Nice period-correct wood grips, however one panel appear very slightly darker. Comes with a proper two-tone magazine. Excellent bore.
