11/23/21 – This is a nice example of a Colt Government Model 1911 sold in the commercial market in 1915. It has retained roughly 60-65% of its original high polish bluing. There is significant finish loss on both the grip straps and on the slide. The wear patterns on the slide are spotty/scratchy and are concentrated around the muzzle and around the high edges. There is a series of light scratches on the top of the slide and a few small dots of discoloration on the right side of the slide. The barrel has what appears to be a faint “P” marking visible through the ejection port. The gun comes with period-correct wood grips and a two-tone magazine. The bore is excellent and has very strong rifling.
