8/15/22 – This is a very nice example of an early, first series Colt Detective Special from 1941. The first series revolvers used a narrower frame, with a shorter ejector rod, checkered hammer spur, half-moon front sight, and a square butt in some instances. It comes with a Colt archive letter stating it was shipped in April of that year to a retailer/sporting goods store. The original blue rates at about 93-95%, with minor wear around the muzzle, on the edges of the square butt, and a little more on the cylinder. Minty bore. Nice grips with sharp wood checkering.
