7/29/22 – This is a U.S. Army issued and inspected Colt 1911A1 from 1944 that was sent to Britain as part of the lend-lease program. It has the proper U.S. military inspectors marks, and British proofs are visible on right rear frame and slide. The parkerized finish is original with most of the wear on the front strap and grip safety, though there is a series of small dings or punch marks on the left side of the slide (not sure what would’ve caused this). Rare Colt barrel with large G under the lug. Risdon magazine. Bore has strong rifling with just a little frost in the grooves. Comes with a period original shoulder holster that is ’43 dated and U.S. marked.
