8/17/22 – This is a standard second model also known as the model-1863 Maynard Carbine had production of just over 20,000 arms between 1863–1865. This one is all correct and was manufactured in 1865. It has crisp military cartouches on the left side of the stock. It is fully functional, and the original saddle ring is intact. It also comes with one shell casing. Overall, the gun is in fair condition. The barrel has retained most its bluing, but there is spotty oxidation throughout. The case-hardening on the receiver has almost completely worn away. There is spotty oxidation and brown patina on virtually all of the metal parts. The stock is fairly nice, but there are light bruises and scratches throughout. The bore is shiny with very strong rifling and some light freckling here and there.
