12/27/23 – This is a like-new Colt Pony Express Founders Commemorative Revolver, manufactured in the 1960’s and was commissioned by Colt to commemorate the termination of the Pony Express. One of only 1,004 made. The left side of the barrel is marked “-RUSSELL MAJORS AND WADDELL- / PONY EXPRESS PRESENTATION MODEL”, the top with the one line address and the right side “COLT .45 PEACEMAKER”. It comes in a glass presentation case and includes two extra cylinders – one marked with the founders, the other with the Pony Express route. Also with the revolver is a package with commemorative medallion, two smaller bronze National Pony Express Centennial Association medallions and documents. It also comes with a leather-bound Bible marked “Presented by Russell, Majors, & Waddell 1860”. It is serial-numbered to match the gun. The gun is in like-new condition with just a few dings on the wood grips.
