9/23/22 – This is an Austro-Hungarian C96 stock with leather harness. The stock is in great condition with no notable cracks or chips. There’s a few small indents and mild surface scratches in the wood, but this is typical. The back of the stock has a small Imperial proof stamp, while the front lid of the stock has what appears to be a Hungarian proof stamp with “Wm 16”. The metal attachment end of the stock is unit stamped and numbered as shown. The leather harness has surface wear and aging throughout, and the leather is soft and pliable. The front leather has a small rip near the bottom of the magazine pouch. The harness is completely intact, however and the stitching is all tight and in place. The back leather is maker stamped and dated.
