10/5/22 – This is a nice Birmingham Small Arms SHTLE III from 1918. It’s FTR marked, indicating factory thorough repair. Matching numbers on bolt, receiver, nose cap, and magazine. The magazine has previous serial crossed out though, and the stock is mismatched. Very nice blued finish throughout, though the finish on the magazine appears re-blued. Small import mark on receiver. The stock has various dings but no cracks. Bore has strong rifling but is frosted throughout and could use a cleaning. Comes with an original sling and bayonet/scabbard. Blade is marked Wilkinson with a 1907 date.
