3/27/24 – This is a very nice example of a “Boer War” Mauser DWM Model 1895 Rifle. It is all matching (including the stock) and has British proofs on the receiver and on the barrel. The left side of the butt stock has the initials “JK” deeply engraved, and the right side has “JK / 1899 / Z.A.R. / Randfontein”. The finish on the metal parts rates roughly 85%. Most of the finish loss is on the barrel bands and floor plate. There is freckling along the barrel and on the receiver. Oxidation and minor pitting on the floor plate. Very nice wood stock. Mint bore.
