3/3/22 – This is a scarce and beautiful Winchester model 97 Trench Shotgun made during WW2. This shotgun was produced in 1942 and comes with the original factory shroud and bayonet lug. Barrel has ’42 date on underside. The shotgun is a proper takedown model and in about 90% overall condition. A period leather sling is also included. The shotgun has a very nice blued finish, with a few minor scuffs or spots of bluing loss on either side of the receiver. There’s typical bluing loss on the tube from use. Has the U.S. and flaming bomb ordnance proof on one side of the receiver. The wood stock is excellent and properly cartouche stamped with a W.B. inspector proof. Overall excellent collector trench shotgun. Smooth action, fully functional and excellent bore. Several small dings or nicks to the wood but no cracks or chips.
