2/26/24 – This 1940 dated Mauser Luger is all original and has the rare, reddish Krieghoff grips on it. A very small set of 1940 lugers have these grips on them from the factory. It is assumed that they experimented with the HK grips as an option before they started making their own black plastic grips. These grips are found in the G to K blocks. This one is all matching, and comes with a ’42’ code replacement mag that has been force-matched to this pistol. It has retained nearly all of its finish with one small area of very light thinning on the left side and hints of pin-pricking along the barrel, on the chamber, and on the grip straps. The bore has good rifling, but there is some light freckling in the grooves.
