2/23/22 – This is a beautiful example of an “a”-prefix Spreewerk P.38 issued to the Nazi military at the end of WW2, in March of 1945. The gun is all matching and has the proper “Eagle 88” military acceptance proofs throughout. The gun has retained virtually of its finish (with just a small area of minor wear on the right side of the slide) but from its dark finish, we believed this gun has been “Russian dipped”. This is typical for these end-of-war Spreewerk P.38’s. Almost all were dipped, because the Russians captured the Spreewerk factory at the end of the war. In any case, the gun is in beautiful condition. There are just two small areas of minor pitting at the back right of the gun that have been finished-over. Comes with excellent period-correct grips (shaved on the left side) and a period-correct Mauser magazine. The bore is near-mint. De-cocker is functional.
