5/26/22 – This is a beautiful example of a dual-tone BYF 44 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. It is all matching and has the proper “Waffen 135” military acceptance proofs throughout. The frame and slide are phosphated, and the barrel is blued, giving it the iconic dual-tone appearance. These finishes are inherently difficult to rate, but we estimate that it has retained nearly all of its original finish. There is just some spotty discoloration on the phosphate parts (typical). The slightest hint of wear around the muzzle and an area of very light scratching on the right side of the slide. Comes with excellent reddish bakelite grips and a phosphated waffen-proofed Mauser magazine. The bore is like-new. De-cocker is functional.
