1/24/22 – This is a very nice example of an original Colt Military Model 1902 pistol from 1907. The 1902 Military is closely related to the Model 1900 (the very first American semi-automatic pistol) but had a square butt with lanyard loop, and introduced a novel device that we all know as the “slide stop” today. This pistol features a 6″ barrel, fixed sights, the original bronze firing pin, and has the correct early style “stub” style hammer. The bright blue finish rates about 90-92% with the majority of the finish loss found around the grips and on the grip straps. There are a few minor scattered freckles and a small amount of surface corrosion at the bottom of the front strap, but no significant pitting anywhere. The rounded “stub” hammer exhibits strong case colors and bright fire blue is evident on the trigger, screws, and pins. The original hard rubber grips are in excellent shape with very little wear and no cracks or chips. The original/correct full blue magazine with unmarked/polished base is in good condition with some finish wear and mild corrosion but no cracks or dents. This pistol appears to function perfectly and the bore is in very good/near excellent condition with bright, sharp rifling and just a tiny amount of frost in the grooves. It comes with a modern reproduction box, instruction sheet and miscellaneous paperwork.
