3/17/22 – This is a beautiful example of a Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1943. The frame and slide are matching, and it has a correct “Large G” Colt .45 Auto barrel. The frame is “United States Property”-marked and has the proper “G.H.D.” inspection approval stamp and military cross canon cartouche. The gun is in near-mint condition, retaining more than 98% of its original parkerized finish. There is just a hint of wear around the muzzle, a small area of light scratching on the left side of the slide, and hints of brown patina on the front strap. Comes with period-correct Colt grips and a proper “S”-marked magazine. The bore is mint. Just a beautiful example of this iconic pistol.
