7/5/22 – This is an original Australian New Zealand WW2 Commando Fighting knife. The knife blade is maker stamped “AKE REGD.” which is one of the three known makers for these scarce fighting knives. The blade shows signs of sharpening along the edge, but still has some of the original blued finish present on the blade (seldom found in todays examples). The maker stamp is somewhat faded but still visible. The handle is crude but in good overall condition as shown. Comes with a leather scabbard that has some surface scratches and initials “MH” scratched into the front and back leather, but in good overall condition.
