1/12/22 – This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1909 revolver issued to the US military in 1910. The gun is all matching, is “United States Property”-marked on the underside of the barrel, and has the proper “RAC” military acceptance proofs on the barrel, right side of the frame, and on the bottom edges of the right grip panel. This listing comes with a Colt archive letter stating this gun was sent to the commanding officer at the ordnance depot in Manila on the Philippine Islands. It has retained roughly 60-65% of its original Colt bluing. There is wear in several areas, and a patch of pitting on the left side of the frame. Also some patina throughout on the barrel and cylinder, but the cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. Terrific, shiny bore. Left grip panel appears to be a replacement and there is a crack in the lower corner.
