2/2/22 – This is a very nice, original Army Colt 1911A1 from late 1944. Proper inspectors marks on frame and slide, with GHD marking on left side frame and ordnance cannons on right side. About 95% of the original parkerized finish remains with standard high edge wear on slide and front edge of frame, and a little more on the front strap. Proper Colt barrel with small ‘F’ under lug. Excellent grips. Bore is shiny with strong rifling but has a little freckling throughout the grooves. Original ‘L’ marked magazine. Only detractor is a previous owner lightly scratched his initials under the ‘P’ proof on the frame, but it’s small and semi-difficult to see.
