6/7/22 – This is a nice example of an Arisaka Type 44 rifle issued to the Japanese military during WW2. The gun is mismatched and has a partially intact Imperial mum stamp on the receiver. On the receiver, there is minor wear on the high edges and some light streaks of wear. No finish on the floor plate / trigger assembly and rear barrel band. Noticeable thinning and brown patina around the muzzle and on the bayonet lug. Spotty oxidation on the butt plate. The stock has noticeable dings and bruises throughout, and a thin surface crack on either side of the wrist. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with pitting and oxidation throughout.
