4/12/23 – This is a nice example of an Arisaka Type 44 issued to the Japanese military during WW2. It is mismatched but does have a fully intact Imperial mum stamp on the receiver. Comes with an original folding bayonet. The metal parts have retained roughly 85% of their original finish with obvious thinning on the receiver and on the floor plate / trigger group. While there isn’t a ton of actual finish loss, there is noticeable brown patina throughout and some areas of spotty oxidation. The wood furniture shows no major damage but does show the typical signs of wear. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with light oxidation and pin-pricking throughout. The bottom screw of the butt plate has pulled out from the wood, so the bottom is not attached to the stock. The original screw is included.
