9/22/23 – This is a very nice example of an Arisaka Type 38 issued to the Japanese military during WW2. It has a fully intact Imperial mum stamp on the receiver and comes with its original matching-numbered dust cover. However, the side rail of the bolt and bolt release are mismatched. The metal parts have retained about 90% of their original finish with thinning on the floor plate. While there isn’t much actual finish loss, there are areas of spotty brown patina here and there, most noticeable on the floor plate. There is pitting and a small dent on the butt plate. Nice wood furniture that shows the normal signs of wear and use. Minty bore.
