5/10/22 – This is a nice example of an Arisaka Type 38 rifle issued to the Japanese military during WW2. The gun is mismatched but does have an intact Imperial mum stamp on the receiver – however, the mum is slightly obscured by an area of minor pitting at the front end of the receiver. There isn’t much actual finish loss, but there is pin-pricking along the whole barrel, brown patina on the barrel bands, and spotty oxidation on the floor plate, trigger group, and butt plate. There are noticeable dings, dents, and scratches in the stock throughout. The butt plate does not fit flush with the bottom edge of the butt stock. The bore has noticeable oxidation and minor pitting throughout.
