8/4/22 – This is a nice example of a Arisaka Type 38 carbine issued to the Japanese military during WW2. The gun is mismatched with the bolt and dust cover not matching the receiver. However, the imperial mum stamp is fully intact. There is finish loss/thinning as well as patina throughout the metal. There are small patches of pinpricking, most noticeably on the butt plate and on the receiver above the mum. The wooden stock is in good condition showing only minor handling wear throughout. The bore is shiny and shows good rifling but has a patch of pitting near the muzzle.
