3/21/24 – This is a rare WW1 US M1917 Trench Fighting Knife by A.C. Co. The knife comes in near-excellent overall condition with all original finish throughout and an original scabbard. The blade retains most of the original finish, with some natural scabbard rub wear and typical wear patterns throughout the triangular blade. The tip and edges of the blade are excellent with minimal wear or defects. The hand guard is unique A.C. Co. style, which is less common than the LF&C examples on today’s market. The finish throughout the hand guard is excellent, with light patina and spots of surface wear throughout. The original wood handle has a few light dings and handling wear, but no cracks or major issues. The original scabbard is maker marked and dated as shown, with all original metal mouth and tip. Well marked with inspector stamps and excellent overall condition.
