9/1/23 – This is an original WW2 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger with an attached silver portepee and hanger. The dagger blade is unmarked with some scabbard rub wear and mild signs of buffing / cleaning throughout the blade. Despite this, there is some mild evidence of cross-graining and natural patina which confirms authenticity. No maker marking or stamps on the blade, and the edge is unsharpened. The eagle cross guard has excellent detail and high edge wear / normal surface patina throughout. The burnt orange bakelite handle has a few scuff marks and a hairline crack in the base of the grip. Tight silver wrapped chord throughout the handle. Normal patina on the pommel and typical high edge wear with traces of the original finish within the grooves. The portepee is excellent and tight. Very clean and a top-notch example. The scabbard has some dark surface patina and interior rust. The hanger is in great condition with a DRGM stamped belt clip.
